All I hear is hate and negativity about my city,
a city that raised me.
Taught me to include
Taught me to advocate

Taught me to enjoy the small things
Taught me to embrace what life brings
Culture
Family
So called “ghetto”
Creativity
How can a city breed creativity?
Taking a canvas seemingly unfit

It allowed freedom, encouraged individuality
Its how I became me
People say it doesn’t matter where you came from
And I agree
It matters what you do with the where
If you’re striving to succeed
